Free Tango Therapy Class with Ian and Cheryl

Saturday 2nd July 2016 10 - 11am

Therapeutic Tango benefits people with neurological and cardio-vascular conditions, like Parkinsons, Alzheimerís and strokes. It helps develop cognitive skills like dual tasking, since a dancerís attention must be divided between navigation and balance.

The touch of others, the rhythm of the music, and the novelty of the experience all contribute to the beneficial effects.Thereís always a lifting of mood, a loosening of gait, an ease of movement by the end of the class. Partners and caregivers are encouraged to join in, Our classes are open to people of all abilities and ages.

This will be a practical workshop as we will go over what we would do in a class. We will explain why we do particular exercises but hope to gain idears from other dancers. Comfortable shoes, socks.or dance shoes are reccomended.
